Competition is fierce, and the racing being confined to mostly city streets many people who had not been exposed to motorsport before have now fallen in love with the sport.

Update: China and Mexico Formula E races cancelled
Updated 12:30pm Wednesday 21st October 2020. In the first coronavirus blow to the 2021 motorsport season two of Formula E’s 2020-2021 season races have been ‘indefinitely postponed’ due to the ongoing uncertainty caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The races, in Mexico City and Sanya, have been removed for the timebeing from the Formula E calendar, with the opening weekend in Santiago, Chile, now being boosted to a double-header to make up for the missing Mexico race. The Chilean race will now also be held behind closed doors and Formula E bosses are hoping that fans will be allowed into the following double-header in Diriyah, Saudi Arabia, in late February.
“Formula E will continue to work with local authorities to monitor the situation and is in constant communication with its community of teams, manufacturers, partners, broadcasters and drivers,” a series statement read. “The next set of races will be confirmed in early 2021.” All calendar updates are subject to approval of the FIA World Motor Sport Council.
