42Maru, a Korean artificial intelligence (AI) startup specializing in development of question answering (QA) platforms, announced on June 9 that it will participate in the “Virtual CogX 2020” exhibition, which will be held online from June 8-10.

CogX is one of the biggest AI conferences in the world. It has been held every year since 2017, and this year’s event is the fourth edition. The first conference in 2017 began with about 200 speakers and 1,300 visitors, but the 2019 CogX event, which was held in King’s Cross, London, attracted 687 speakers and more than 20,000 participants.

This year’s event will focus on “How Should We Greet the Next 10 Years?” It will be held online due to the global COVID-19 pandemic. The 800 speakers include former U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry and former British Prime Minister Tony Blair.

42Maru is an artificial intelligence startup that develops and services a deep-semantic question-answer platform that accurately understands users’ query intentions and derives a single answer from vast unstructured data. SaaS-based artificial intelligence platform is applied to various industries by using deep learning-based ‘NLU’, ‘Paraphrasing’ that detects and expands similar expressions, and ‘MRC’ 42Maru’s unique technology.

42Maru participates in CogX for two consecutive years to showcase its technologies after participating in AI Summit London 2019 by CogX and TechXLR8, which are both exhibitions of innovation technologies held in London in 2019.

Kim Dong-hwan, CEO of 42Maru, said, “We are participating in CogX for the second consecutive year, which is one of the biggest events in AI technology that only selected companies can attend.” He also said, “We hope that it will offer us an opportunity to introduce 42Maru’s outstanding QA technology and meet with AI companies and investors from Europe and other parts of the world.”
